Westport people have had their first chance to grill the experts about a potentially precedent-setting plan to deal with major floods over the next hundred years.
An information evening was held in the town last night to brief residents on the $54 million case put to the Government by a group of local councils.
The government has been asked to cover majority of the cost and if approved, it could set the bar for future community climate-change packages.
