Donald Trump has refused to answer questions under oath from the New York Attorney General's office today, as its years-long civil fraud probe nears its conclusion.
The investigation, led by Attorney General Letitia James, is determining if the Trump Organisation used misleading information to get millions of dollars in tax breaks and loans.
An hour after he arrived at James' office, Trump issued a statement saying he took his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.
In the past, Trump had said dodging questions is an admission of guilt. But today, his stance on that somewhat changed.
New York University law professor Stephen Gillers spoke to Guyon Espiner.
