Serena Williams is set to bid farewell to tennis in the coming weeks after a phenomenal career spanning two decades.
In an interview with Vogue Magazine, she says she will be moving in a "different direction" and "relishing the next few weeks" before she hangs up her racquet for good.
The news comes just hours after she won her first singles match in 430 days, beating Spain's Nuria Párrizas Díaz in straight sets at the Canadian Open.
But even after that high, the 23-time grand slam champion's view of victory wasn't as rosy as it once was.
Telegraph tennis reporter Uche Amako spoke to Guyon Espiner.
