From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 1 August 2022

To Birmingham and the Commonwealth Games, where New Zealand has claimed a further three gold medals this morning.

The first came in the velodrome, with Corbin Strong winning gold in the men's 15 kilometre scratch race, to take New Zealand's track cycling gold medal tally to six overall.

All eyes then turned to the pool where swimming sensation Lewis Clareburt claimed gold in the men's 200-metre butterfly final in a thrilling come-from-behind victory.

That win was shortly followed by yet another, with para swimmer Joshua Willmer winning the Men's 100-metre Breaststroke SB8 final.

Reporter Felicity Reid was at the aquatic centre watching the action.
