Athletes have begun entering Alexander Stadium in Birmingham at the Opening Ceremony for the 22nd Commonwealth Games.
New Zealand's athletes have been led into the stadium by joint flagbearers Joelle King and Tom Walsh, two of the team's best medal prospects.
RNZ sports reporter Bridget Tunnicliffe has been following the Ceremony at a Fan Zone at Victoria Square in central Birmingham.
