More consultation needed on Auckland parking - Councillor

From Morning Report, 8:19 am on 28 July 2022

The chair of the Auckland Council's planning committee is defending a decision to delay voting on a plan to reduce on-street parking spaces in favour of cycling and bus lanes.

That decision was roundly criticised by the Ratepayers' Alliances spokesman, Josh Van Veen, on Morning Report yesterday.

Committee chairman Chris Darby says it's not his committee's fault - they're waiting for a decision by Auckland Transport, which needs to consult with Māori.

He spoke to Corin Dann.
