The government's Clean Car Discount Scheme has suffered a blow, after the Vehicle Industry Association withdrew its support.
Chief executive David Vinsen says its thousands of car dealer members have been complicit in the government "stealing money from consumers" due to incorrect data.
In a statement, the Minister of Transport has rejected that - saying no vehicle buyer has had, or will have, money stolen from them.
