The Greens are demanding more support for students after a survey they commissioned found two thirds of respondents are struggling to buy food and other necessities.
It also shows the average university student is spending more than half their income on rent.
The report - pulled together with the student unions - comes as New Zealand records record inflation - a 32 year high of 7.3 percent.
