After days of confusion and anger on the streets, Sri Lanka's president Gotabaya Rajapaksa has finally submitted his resignation letter.
Celebrations broke out across the capital Colombo just moments after the parliamentary speaker's office confirmed the letter had been delivered to its High Commissioner in Singapore.
The embattled leader who earlier this week fled to the Maldives is now in Singapore.
The legality of that letter still needs to be verified, and a formal announcement will hopefully take place tomorrow.
