After an anxious period of radio silence, Kiribati has picked up the phone and ignited hopes it's not completely lost to the Pacific Islands Forum.
Pacific leaders emerged from their annual talks in Suva yesterday having endorsed the 2050 Blue Pacific Continent Strategy, a binding and guiding document for the region's challenges.
The climate crisis and regional security weighed heavy on this year's meeting so the Blue strategy was cause for cava - as was news the communication line with Kiribati is back.
