Trial finds virtual reality could help cure phobias

A University of Otago trial has found virtual reality video could be used as a cure for common phobias like spiders, flying, needles, heights and dogs.

One hundred and twenty nine people took part and the results showed a seventy five percent reduction in their phobia symptoms after just six weeks.

Associate Professor Cameron Lacey led the trial.

He spoke to Corin Dann.
