Former National Party MP Aaron Gilmore is back for another crack at politics, confirming he will seek a seat on the Wellington City Council this year.
Gilmore was forced to resign as a list MP 2013 after an incident at a Hanmer Springs Hotel, in which guests claimed he had threatened to get the Prime Minister involved when staff refused to serve him alcohol.
While Gilmore denies those allegations, he said he was rude and arrogant at the time, and in order to become old and wise, you have to have been young and stupid.
He spoke to Morning Report about his plans.
