Government scraps three arts funding rounds in favour of single round

From Morning Report, 8:51 am on 6 July 2022

The government has scrapped several arts, cultural and heritage funding rounds and replaced them with a single fund to make it easier for people to apply.

The new Cultural Sector Regeneration fund is part of the Covid-19 Recovery Programme.

The Ministry of Culture and Heritage says the fund should increase employment and skill development opportunities, safeguard Mātauranga Māori and increase the use of arts, culture and heritage to improve wellbeing.

Wairau Māori Art Gallery and Toi Iho Charitable Trusts chair Elizabeth Ellis spoke to Corin Dann.
