Employers are having to dig deeper into their pockets to attract talent - especially in the regions.
Data from TradeMe for the June quarter shows wages are continuing to shoot up, with the national average salary up 2 percent year-on-year, to just over $66,000.
The number of job listings on the website however, fell 5 percent on the same period last year, but is still well above pre-pandemic levels.
