National up in arms over changes to political donation rules

From Morning Report, 8:13 am on 28 June 2022

Opposition parties are up in arms over changes to the country's political donations laws.

New legislation would require anyone who donates more than $5000 to a party to be publicly named - the current threshold for that is $15,000.

Justice Minister Kiri Allan earlier told Morning Report the changes would demand greater transparency in New Zealand's electoral system.

The National Party's electoral law spokesperson Chris Penk spoke to Corin Dann.
