GPs are warning that requests for medical certificates from sick workers and students are adding to the strain on general practices.
The Royal New Zealand College of GPs said schools and businesses should ask themselves if they really need medical certificates from sick students and workers after three days of illness.
Its medical director, Bryan Betty, told our education correspondent, John Gerritsen, doctors sometimes doubt medical certificates are necessary.
