The dust has settled, the hoardings have been packed away, the sun finally came out, and to nobody's great surprise, Tauranga voters overwhelmingly chose National's Sam Uffindell to be their new MP.
But the voter turnout itself, like many by-elections, was decidedly underwhelming.
