Rugby Australia has reportedly told New Zealand Rugby it is considering abandoning Super Rugby after the 2023 season.

Reports across the Tasman say Rugby Australia chairman Hamish McLennan has told counterpart Stewart Mitchell they are looking at quitting the competition in favour of a domestic format.

David Moffett was New Zealand Rugby's chief executive when Super Rugby was launched 26 years ago. He spoke to Corin Dann.

New Zealand Rugby declined a request to come on the programme, saying in a statement that it was committed to its relationship with Rugby Australia.
