Farmers have released their plan to price emissions.
The He Waka Eke Noa partnership behind the sector's alternative to joining the Emissions Trading Scheme recommends letting farmers count their emissions, which would be paid for at a much lower rate than other sectors are charged.
DairyNZ is part of that He Waka Eke Noa group, which includes representatives from across the primary sector.
DairyNZ chief executive Dr Tim Mackle says the plan for the sector will reward innovation.
He spoke to Corin Dann.
