A cost of living surprise - the government's pulled out an almost billion dollar package in Budget 2022 to help New Zealanders struggling with the rising cost of living.
Finance Minister Grant Robertson went into this year's Budget having to balance short-term pressures against longer-term investment.
Opposition parties say he has failed to do that and has left the country worse off.
