Napier Council votes to keep community housing

From Morning Report, 8:48 am on 19 May 2022

The Napier City Council has decided to keep its community housing, following several days of protests outside its offices.

Many feared the council would sell its portfolio of nearly 400 homes for the disabled, elderly and low income earners, leaving the residents in the lurch.

There's a catch - a rates hike and a rent increase are on their way.
