Building costs are being singled out as a major contributor to the country's record inflation.
Property research firm Core Logic's Cordell Housing Index Price latest survey found that construction costs rose a whopping 2.4 percent in the three months ended March, compared with a 0.9 percent increase in the prior quarter.
Wage costs within the sector are also going through the roof.
