Covid-19 in Shanghai is causing widespread distress as the government continues with its biggest city-wide lockdown since the start of the pandemic.
The city of 25 million is closed for regular business while authorities conduct massive testing. China is one of the only places in the world still following a zero-Covid policy.
The city government has asked residents "to support, understand and cooperate with the city's epidemic prevention and control work" as it attempts to stamp out the virus.
Corin Dann spoke with Beijing correspondent Patrick Fok, who said the lockdown has outlasted expectations, and no one knows when it will end.
