Covid-19: NZ death toll passes 450

Covid-19 deaths caused by Omicron have already soared higher than experts anticipated, and will continue to climb.

Less than two weeks weeks ago, modeller Professor Michael Plank anticipated between 300 and 500 people would die in the current outbreak.

Just over 450 people have so far died and the outbreak is only just passing its peak.
