While many Ukrainians are grateful for a special visa scheme to bring immediate family to Aotearoa, some won't be taking up the offer.
Sergiy Vorobey has applied to sponsor his mother-in-law, who's currently in the western Ukranian town of Rivne.
But coming to Aotearoa would mean leaving other family members behind.
Vorobey spoke to Corin Dann.
