The covid-19 Response Minister has doubled down on his decision to go against official advice and share private information about New Zealand journalist, Charlotte Bellis.
Earlier this year Ms Bellis was stuck in Afghanistan after being denied an MIQ spot - at the time Chris Hipkins said she had been offered consular assistance twice but had not responded.
She insisted the information is wrong.
Now it's been revealed in parliament that Foreign Affairs officials gave Mr Hipkins the details but told him they shouldn't be shared publicly.
