Covid-19: Protester vs protester at occupation at Parliament

From Morning Report, 7:18 am on 22 February 2022

Protesters are no longer in control of the behaviour in and around Parliament, according to the Assistant Police Commissioner Richard Chambers.

He made that statement after those occupying the grounds at the heart of our democracy poured sewerage into storm water drains; threw poo at police; and continued disrupting and intimidating the Courts, University, and public.

That's in contrast to repeated assertions that it's a peaceful protest.

An intermediary talking to the protesters and the police, Leighton Baker who used to lead the New Conservatives, was threatened after he failed to pass on the message that police would tow cars.

Baker spoke to Corin Dann.
