Wellingtonians are promised increased police presence on the streets around Parliament today, to make sure they can go about their business safely.
Meanwhile, the police are also trying to negotiate a way forward with the anti-mandate protesters.
Wellington district commander Superintendent Corrie Parnell says getting the streets cleared is a priority.
He spoke to Susie Ferguson.
