Porirua Mayor Anita Baker is livid and wants answers about the Transmission Gully highway north of Wellington.
The billion-dollar 27km road project has missed five opening-day deadlines in two years.
Repairs are now underway to fix problems highlighted last December with the sealing and surfacing of the new road.
Baker says no one will tell the public what's gone wrong and it's time the Transport Minister Michael Wood sorted it out.
