From Morning Report, 7:44 am on 28 January 2022

A major political poll shows support for Labour has continued to creep downward. A slip of 1 percent support since November has left it at 40 percent.

National is up 4 points, but at 32 percent the opposition party is behind Labour by 8 points.

The Greens have stayed at 9 percent, and Act has lost ground - sliding to 11 percent, while The Maori Party is at 2 percent.

The TVNZ poll shows Jacinda Ardern sitting at 35 percent for preferred Prime Minister, the lowest since she took the role.

Christopher Luxon as the next Prime Minister rose 13 points to 17 percent.
