The Ministry of Health has confirmed a suspected case of Omicron at an early childhood centre in Tauranga.
It says all those at the centre at the time are being treated as close contacts, being asked to isolate, and get tested immediately.
In Hamilton music festival Soundsplash, which is for ages 16 and up, says it is aware of reports that people who attended the weekend event have tested positive for Covid-19.
Responding to our request for comment, the festival organisers say they have not received any confirmation from the Ministry of Health that it is a location of interest or that there was a Covid-19 case at the event.
Public health officials say they are are currently assessing the potential exposure and expect to publish a location of interest early today including health advice for those who were at the event.
Auckland secondary school Glendowie College has posted on Facebook asking students who went to Soundsplash not to attend school today until they have received health advice it is safe to do so.
