Love in the time of Covid-19: Visas, borders and the High Court

Couples facing heartache after immigration battles left them on different continents are heading to the High Court today.

Auckland university professor Michael Witbrock and Levin businessman David Higgs have been unable to bring their partners into New Zealand during the pandemic.

They say the decision to suspend and then cancel visa applications have breached international obligations and requirements they should have lived together overseas are discriminatory.

Immigration reporter Gill Bonnett is covering the case.
