A pilot study is underway with Pacific health providers taking the lead in caring for Pacific families self isolating with Covid-19 in Auckland.
Some services have felt locked out by health authorities, saying they were only called on to help after district health boards had made initial contact with isolating families, often to detrimental effect.
After months of frustration, a small pilot using two families is being run and it's expected to grow within days.
