From Morning Report, 7:56 am on 19 November 2021

A blood micromoon lunar eclipse will descend over Aotearoa's skies this evening at just after 8 o'clock.

The near-total elipse will be the longest of its type to reach New Zealand since the year 1212.

For eager stargazers, the red hues on the moon are expected to peak at just after 10pm.
