Covid-19: Germany struck by surge in cases

The number of daily Covid-19 cases registered in Germany has soared to 65,000 - by far the highest figure there since the pandemic began.

Germany's Parliament is scrambling in the wake of the alarming figures, with new restrictions expected to be unveiled in coming hours.

The European continent is experiencing a surge and in many countries, the screws are about to be turned on the unvaccinated.

Germany correspondent Trent Murray spoke to Susie Ferguson.
