Covid-19: Immunologist backs booster shots after second dose

From Morning Report, 7:13 am on 16 November 2021

Booster shots of the Pfizer vaccine will be available in a fortnight for people who got their second dose more than six months ago.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the country has ample supplies of the vaccine, and those initially seeking a third shot will be the over-65s, border workers and medical staff -- the first cohort to be vaccinated earlier this winter in 2021.

Malaghan Institute of Medical Research director of research and immunologist Graham Le Gros says booster shots have great potential to change the game for the better.
