The government's Three Waters plan has been labelled an attack on democracy at a council-organised rally in North Canterbury.
Hurunui District council is one of several councils opposing the Government's plan to create four new regional entities to take over responsibility for the provision of drinking, waste and stormwater services.
At the rally yesterday the Hurunui Council's CEO told the crowd the government was planning on stealing its assets.
