The Prime Minister is planning to make public today predictions for where Auckland's Covid-19 outbreak might peak.
Jacinda Ardern is refusing to give away anything about the alert level decision Cabinet ministers are due to make for Auckland and Waikato this afternoon.
Cabinet is looking at whether to move down to alert level 3 step 2, which could see larger gatherings outdoor and retail reopening.
Ardern told Morning Report the government will share modelling for the outbreak, which includes the effect of increasing vaccination rates.
"Numbers may, as a result of vaccinations and where we are, may in November, peak at around possibly the 200 cases per day mark. While we're in that period, there is a bit of a wait and see to see whether or not that will end up being the case."
Ardern says Cabinet is waiting for the latest up-to-date information this afternoon to make the decision about whether to loosen restrictions.
