ACC is commissioning an independent review into privacy and claimant data sharing practices in the organisation.
This decision by the Board of ACC is in response to an RNZ investigation which revealed that employees at a contact centre in Hamilton shared details of people's injuries and mocked them in a Snapchat group chat called 'ACC Whores'.
Twelve employees at the Hamilton call centre have been stood down, pending an investigation into their conduct.
The internal privacy breach was decried by Minister of Internal Affairs Jan Tinetti in Parliament yesterday and by several opposition party leaders.
ACC acting chief executive Mike Tully spoke to Corin Dann.
