Climate Campaigners want NZ to support pacific more

From Morning Report, 8:54 am on 27 October 2021

Climate campaigners are calling New Zealand to stump up more financial support for pacific island nations ahead of COP26 - the international climate conference kicking off in Scotland this weekend.

The call for more financing comes after New Zealand announced last week a boost of NZ$1.3 billion dollars over four years to support countries most vulnerable to climate change.

Over half of the money is to go to the Pacific.

Oxfam Aotearoa wants to see distinct funds to help communities recover and restore what has been lost due to climate change.
