About fifty vehicles were turned away at the Auckland border as they attempted to cross unlawfully last night.
They called themselves members of a hikoi - hoping to travel from Rotorua to Te Tii o Waitangi, but Mana News reporter Joe Trinder told Morning Report the group won't be welcomed.
"They're headed up to Waitangi, but evidently up at Waitangi everything has been cancelled and they're not invited, and the Tai Tokerau border control don't want them up there."
The convoy held up truck drivers, who had to wait behind them for about an hour while Police moved them on.
Trinder said the protestors were anti-vaccine, anti-mask and anti the Prime Minister.
