The Ministry of Health is defending the government's new Covid-19 records website and app, which an IT security expert has raised questions about.
By the end of the year, people will be able to access My Covid Record for their vaccine certificates and test results.
Daniel Ayers said the web app is using software known to have cyber-security flaws, and people's information could be at risk.
However, the ministry's group manager for national digital services, Michael Dreyer told Morning Report the software has been tested and reviewed by external parties.
"It is always a challenge. We use very modern cloud software platforms, and we are constantly checking, upgrading, patching, keeping ahead of these things.
"It's something we do every day we're always chasing on that."
Dreyer says reviews have shown nothing wrong with the app.
