Covid-19: South Island mostly unaffected by roadmap

From Morning Report, 8:41 am on 5 October 2021

Auckland's been given a roadmap, of sorts, out of lockdowns but South Islanders are asking where they fit into it all.

It's been more than 300 days since the mainland last recorded a community case of Covid-19 but Covid-19 restrictions have only been eased slightly.

Restaurants, pubs and cafe owners are particularly disappointed - from midnight the cap of 100 customers at any one time is lifted, but people still have to be seated and separated which they say won't make much of a difference to their profitability.
