Hamilton and Raglan have moved to alert level 3 after two new Covid-19 cases were detected in the region.
The lockdown will last at least five days, and covers not only Raglan and Hamilton but Te Kauwhata, Huntly and Ngāruawāhia.
Rather than feeling despondent, however, Raglan Ward Councillor Lisa Thomson says people in her neck of the Waikato woods are feeling energised to get vaccinated.
