Covid-19: Public health doctors want response overhauled

There are growing concerns that Covid-19 found in Waikato - and other surprise cases - could be the tip of an iceberg of undetected transmission.

The government's set to announce its decision about Auckland's alert level today, but it is highly unlikely there will be any change after 50 cases over the weekend, two in Waikato.

Some of the country's leading public health doctors say there needs to be an urgent overhaul of the Covid-19 response to stop Delta winning the current battle.
