Waikato health authorities are ramping up testing capacity and hoping two positive Covid-19 cases in the region will cause a rush on vaccinations.
The cases yesterday prompted the Government to put part of Waikato into alert level 3, effective midnight on Sunday.
Meanwhile, with the number of routes connecting the area making a hard border impossible, locals say they're just going to have to trust people to follow the rules.
