An eagle with long talons once roamed the skies of South Australia, while terrorising koalas.
Scientists have confirmed a fossil, found five years ago, is of a newly discovered species that was alive 25 million years ago.
It's believed the raptor hunted an extinct species of koala, as well as other animals in trees.
Flinders University researcher and study author Ellen Mather spoke to Susie Ferguson.
