Imagine being told you had just 30 minutes to choose a handful of your most prized possessions before everything you owned was put in a skip and taken to the dump.
A Christchurch family says that was their experience after their Kāinga Ora home became contaminated with asbestos.
As Conan Young reports, the family accuses the state landlord of lacking any compassion and for mishandling the repairs on their home, potentially affecting their health.
Kāinga Ora denies giving the family 30 minutes, and says they were there for four and a half hours.
