The Law Society says that a lawyer who is accused of breaching the Auckland lockdown to travel to Wānaka may face disciplinary action for bringing the reputation of the legal profession into disrepute.
Hannah Rawnsley, a 26-year-old barrister from Pukekohe, and her partner William Willis, a 35-year-old equestrian, made the trip on Thursday.
Law Society president Tiana Epati spoke to RNZ's Māori news director Mani Dunlop about Hannah Rawnsley using her status as a lawyer to flout level 4 rules and cross the regional boundary.
