Level 2 restrictions pinching hospitality profits

Restaurants, bars, eateries and other dining venues across much of the country opened their doors for customers for the first weekend in a month.

Under the new Alert Level 2 rules, they are allowed to host up to 50 customers indoors and more outdoors if they have sufficient space to meet the distancing guidelines.

Making anything like their usual profits, however, will be no piece of cake.

Jeremy Smith, the owner of the Trinity Group of restaurants and bars in the capital, and Mike Egan, co-owner of Monsoon Poon, spoke to Corin Dann.
